Nearly one year ago, the girls’ varsity softball team won its first WPIAL title in two decades. Now, they’re ready to defend that title.

The girls went 8-2 in the section this season, which makes them section co-champions. As a result, they will compete in the 5A softball tournament as the 4-seed.

North Hills will open its title defense against Upper Saint Clair on Tuesday, May 17. The game will be at North Allegheny at 4:00, and the winner will take on the winner of West Allegheny and Greater Latrobe. The first-round matchup will be live-streamed on the Trib HSSN website.
