Every fall sports team is now in action at North Hills. Here are some of their results from last week:

Girls' Soccer

The girls' varsity soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Wednesday with a 3-2 victory on the road against Shaler. After losing a high-scoring affair on Saturday, the girls now own a record of 1-3. The middle school team played well at Martorelli Stadium on Saturday during Soccer Fest, but fell to Shaler.

Boys' Soccer 

The boys’ team continues to show signs of improvement despite not coming away with the results that they’re looking for. One of their best efforts so far this year came last week in a loss against North Allegheny. Middle school soccer picked up a comeback win on Saturday against Shaler during Soccer Fest.

Boys’ Golf 

The varsity and JV golf teams are still looking for their first wins this fall, but last week, both teams posted their lowest scores of the season. 

Girls’ Tennis

Girls’ tennis hit a bump in the road last week, losing to both Seneca Valley and North Allegheny. The team is 3-4 entering play this week.

Football

The varsity team nearly pulled a major upset on Friday when it hosted Gateway. The Gators escaped thanks to a late field goal to make the score 20-17, but North Hills played its most impressive game of the season in the loss. The middle school team is off to a fast start, highlighted by a shutout victory on Wednesday.

Girls’ Volleyball

After starting the season on a hot streak, girls’ volleyball slowed down last week. The girls now own a 2-2 record, but they did bounce back over the weekend at the Shaler Tournament. They went 7-2 in pool play before losing in the quarterfinals. JV volleyball is 3-1 on the season.

Cross Country

The varsity cross country teams ran their first races of the season last week, including the Red, White, and Blue Invitational. The middle school teams are also underway, and both the boys and girls enjoyed successful races at the Oakland Catholic Invitational.
