Girls' tennis players Ellie Kim (freshman) and Anna Tikhomirova (junior) played in section doubles this week and qualified for the WPIAL Championships.

The girls entered the tournament as the 7-seed, and after a 10-4 opening round victory, they upset the 2-seed 11-10 to reach the semifinals. There, they lost and eventually claimed fourth place. 

The top four finishers earn a spot in the WPIAL tournament, so Ellie and Anna will be back in action next week.
