Senior football player Sam Coldren and junior volleyball player Zoey Allen have been named the Student-Athletes of the Month for October.
Coldren, a running back and defensive end on the varsity football team, compiled over 200 yards from scrimmage offensively, while contributing 24.5 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks defensively. He helped guide North Hills to a third-place finish in the section and a playoff berth.
In the classroom, Coldren has found success, which is highlighted by mostly A's and a College in High School (CHS) course.
Allen, a starter for the varsity volleyball team, led her team in hitting percentage in the month of October. She overcame an injury earlier in the season to return to the lineup and help lead the charge for the playoff-bound Indians.
Off the court, Allen is acing a rigorous class schedule, with multiple classes in the CHS, AP, and/or Honors categories. Her QPA so far this year is an impressive 3.9.
Head coach Matt White praised the way that Allen, “grew as our vocal leader on and off the court,” while highlighting her willingness to assist her teammates, no matter their year or position.
Congratulations, Sam and Zoey, for an outstanding month of October!
