Junior girls’ volleyball player Giana Cutenese and sophomore football player Julius Green have been named the Student-Athletes of the Month for November.
Cutenese, a libero on the girls’ varsity volleyball team, helped guide the Indians to their first postseason appearance in over 20 years. She was an anchor defensively and one of the team’s leaders in digs.
She was one of the captains for her team in the fall and was named to the Post-Gazette 2022 Class 4A Section 1 Girls’ Volleyball All-Star Third Team.
In the classroom, she has compiled a 4.04 GPA. Her class schedule features three college in high school classes, speaking to her level of commitment off the court.
Green, who played as a running back and defensive back for the varsity football team, also helped clinch a playoff berth for his team in the fall. He led the team in tackles with 45 while also leading in rushing with 500 yards and a 4.5 yards per carry average.
For his efforts defensively, he was named to the Big 56’s All-Section First team as a Defense At-Large selection.
Off the field, Green has been great, as he has multiple A’s this semester and is taking a college in high school course as a sophomore.
Congratulations to Giana and Julius. Keep up the great work!
