Happy New Year everyone! As we return from the holiday break, here is where our teams stand:

Girls’ Basketball

The girls went winless over the holiday break despite playing in several close contests. With the team on a bit of a skid, it came into this week with a 4-6 record.

The middle school girls’ teams are still playing well as the calendar flips to 2023.

Boys’ Basketball

Boys’ varsity basketball played in the Hampton Holiday Tournament over the break and went 1-1. On the season, the boys own a record of 6-2.

The freshman basketball team won both games at North Allegheny’s tournament to improve to 6-1 on the season, and the middle school teams have also been playing well.

Swimming and Diving

Both varsity swimming and diving teams took down Montour in their final meet before the break. They did not compete between Christmas and New Year’s, but they will return to action this week.

Wrestling

Varsity wrestling did not have a match in the last two weeks but will return to the mat this week. The junior high team wrestled Knoch and North Allegheny prior to the break.

Gymnastics

The gymnastics team made its season debut just before the holiday break and came in second place in its first meet. With 121 points in the meet, the girls defeated Burrell (118) and fell just short of North Allegheny (131).
