The winter sports teams have all but concluded their regular seasons, and now the focus begins to shift toward postseason competitions. Here is where we stand:

Girls’ Basketball

The varsity team began the week by staging a huge comeback on the road against Mars, trailing by 16 points in the second half before storming back to win 51-45. The girls followed that up with another win to end their season on a three-game winning streak and 8-13 overall.

The JV and middle school teams also wrapped up their seasons last week. JV finished the year 9-8, while the seventh grade team went undefeated. Congratulations, girls!

Boys’ Basketball

Boys’ varsity basketball went 1-1 last week to finish the regular season with a 17-5 record. As a result, the team clinched a section championship for the second year in a row.

The middle school basketball seasons are also complete, and both the seventh and eighth grade teams finished with a winning record.

Swimming and Diving

Both the boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams picked up wins in their meet last week against Penn Hills. They will swim in one meet this week to end the team schedule.

Wrestling

Varsity wrestling competed in the Montour Duals over the weekend, where they finished second. With that, the team finishes the regular season with a 12-5 record.

Gymnastics

With team competition over for the varsity gymnasts, they spent the weekend competing individually at the WPIAL Championships. Sophomore Abbey McCann earned second place for her floor exercise. Congratulations, Abbey!

Unified Bocce

Unified Bocce played its final home match of the winter on Wednesday, falling to Deer Lakes, 3-1. They will go on the road this week to conclude their season.
