Senior Maggie Adkins and sophomore Conor Greer have been named the North Hills Student-Athletes of the Month for February.
Adkins, a member of the girls’ swimming and diving team and the wrestling team, has been busy so far this school year. She has participated in a total of four sports since August, and all of her coaches have raved about her positive energy and dedication.
In February, she competed in an all-girls wrestling tournament, the Western Regional Girls Championships, in addition to varsity competitions. She placed seventh in her tournament.
Outside of athletics, Adkins has compiled a solid 3.81 GPA this year. She is also a Beattie student, studying Sports Medicine-Rehab Therapy and Exercise Sciences Technology.
Greer, a member of the boys’ swimming and diving team, helped lead his team to a winning record this winter and qualified for the WPIAL Championships as part of three boys’ relay teams: 200 medley, 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle.
As a member of the 200 medley, Greer helped set a new school record with a time of 1:39.70.
Coach Loutsenhizer praised Greer’s helpfulness at practice and his leadership and motivation skills throughout the season.
Congratulations to Maggie and Conor, our February Student-Athletes of the Month!
