The girls’ varsity lacrosse team hosted Sewickley Academy on Monday in a first-round 3A playoff game. Coming into the game, the seventh-seeded Indians owned a 10-7 record.
North Hills started quickly, jumping out to an early 4-1 lead, but the Panthers battled back and took a lead of their own late in the first half. The Indians then tied the game at six going into the intermission.
The second half started as a back-and-forth fight, but North Hills rattled off four straight goals to put the game out of reach. Sewickley Academy got one back late, but it was too late. The Indians won by the final score of 12-9.
With the first-round victory, North Hills is set to travel to Mt. Lebanon to take on the Blue Devils, who are coming off a first-round bye. The WPIAL Quarterfinal matchup will begin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 17.
Congratulations, girls, and good luck!
