On Thursday, the varsity cross country teams hit the course in the WPIAL Championships at White Oaks Park.
The season unfortunately came to an end at the meet, as the North Hills teams did perform as well as they had hoped. With that said, this was the program’s most successful trip to the WPIAL Championships in years.
On the boys’ side, this marked the best team finish since 2014. They were paced by Kayden Lightner, who finished with a time of 17:25.40.
For the girls, 2023 was their best finish as a team since 2016. Megan Bolinda was the top performer with a time of 20:58.90, and she earned the best individual finish by a North Hills female since 2016.
While the Indians had higher hopes for Thursday’s meet, there is no denying that the program has made tremendous progress this year. Congratulations on a great season!
