With the holiday season in full swing, this week was a short one for the North Hills winter sports teams. Here’s how they performed:
Swimming & Diving
The boys’ and girls’ varsity swimming and diving teams traveled to Montour on Wednesday for their lone meet of the week. Their next meet will be on January 4 at Moon.
Wrestling
After defeating Shaler last week, the varsity wrestling team did not compete this week. The wrestlers will return to action on January 3 when they travel to Butler.
Girls’ Basketball
The varsity basketball team won a thrilling overtime game against Armstrong to kick off the week before losing to Hempfield on the road. With a 1-1 record this week, the girls are now 5-4 on the season.
The JV squad won both of its games this week, making the girls 6-1 so far this winter.
Boys’ Basketball
Boys’ basketball also went 1-1 this week, losing a two-point game against Montour and beating North Allegheny 75-68. Overall, the boys own a 3-3 record.
The boys’ JV team was also 1-1 this week and is 3-2 on the season.
Unified Bocce
The unified bocce team won its first match of the season when it traveled to Hampton and earned a 4-0 victory. With the first match under their belts, they’ll prepare for match number two, which will be January 8 at Pine-Richland.
