The snow wreaked havoc on the schedule last week, but we still had several great nights of competition. Below is an update on our teams.

Swimming & Diving

The varsity swimming and diving teams hosted Northgate last week. Both teams lost before hitting the road to take on Pine-Richland.

Wrestling

Varsity wrestling beat Pine-Richland last week, then went to the Allegheny County Tournament over the weekend. At the tournament, Evan Letky earned a second-place finish (189 lbs), and Brady Rohaly came in seventh (107 lbs).

Giavonie Schipani (114 lbs) finished in fourth place while also earning his 100^th career win. North Hills took ninth place overall out of 35 teams.

Girls’ Basketball

The varsity basketball team rebounded from an uncharacteristic loss early in the week with a dominant 52-19 win over Fox Chapel on Thursday. With the win, the girls improved to 9-7 overall and 6-1 in the section.

JV basketball was 2-0 last week to move to 10-2 on the year, while the middle school team continues to have another impressive season.

Boys’ Basketball

Boys’ basketball won its only game of the week, defeating Chartiers Valley 78-66 in an important section showdown. The team is now 6-7 on the season and 2-3 in the section.

The JV team also won last week to improve to 6-7 this winter. On Wednesday, the freshman and middle school teams enjoyed Middle School Night, playing in the annex gym and winning two of their three games.

Unified Bocce

Unified bocce was not in action last week, but the team will return to the court this week when it hosts its first home match of the winter.

Gymnastics

The varsity gymnastics team did not compete last week due to the weather. The girls will return to action this week when they compete in their third meet of the season.
