This weekend, Anna Tikhomirova and JoAnna Saad represented North Hills at the WPIAL’s first Girls’ Individual Championships.

Saad was one of ten wrestlers in the 106-pound weight class. She got off to a quick start with a fast first-round win. She then took down her second and third opponents of the day, sending her to the final round with a chance to win a WPIAL title.

While she ultimately fell in the championship match, it was a great day for Saad and the Indians. With the second-place finish, she punched her ticket to the PIAA West Regional Championships on March 2 at Canon-McMillan.
