Over the weekend, junior Kayden Lightner participated in the PTFCA Indoor State Championships.
This was Lightner’s second trip to the Indoor State Championships. In 2023, he finished ninth in the 800-meter, and this year, he improved on that mark. This time around, he ran his event in 1:54.61 to claim sixth place.
In addition to sixth overall, Lightner finished fourth among PIAA 3A runners, third among non-seniors, and first among WPIAL 3A runners. His time is a new personal best and a school record.
Next, he’ll race in the New Balance Indoor Nationals on Sunday, March 10.
Congratulations to Kayden on a great showing over the weekend!
