On Friday and Saturday, the varsity wrestling team will send its qualified wrestlers to the WPIAL Individual Championships.

North Hills will send seven boys to the WPIAL event. Freshman Brady Rohaly (107 lbs.) is the highest-seeded North Hills wrestler coming into the weekend, as he is seeded eighth.

Giavonie Schipani (114 lbs.), Paul Cerminaro (127 lbs.), Kaden Salvatore (139 lbs.), Carter Morvay (152 lbs.), Santo Cerminaro (160 lbs.), and Dan Kunesky (215 lbs.) are the other student-athletes competing in the championships at Canon McMillan. The top four finishers in each weight class will move on to the PIAA Individual Championships.

In addition to the boys in the WPIAL Championships, North Hills will also send one female athlete to Canon McMillan for the PIAA Girls’ West Regional on Saturday.

Junior JoAnna Saad, who finished second in the WPIAL Individual Championships in February, will be one of eight competitors in the 106-pound weight class. A top-four finish would earn her a spot in the PIAA Individual Championships.

Good luck to all of our wrestlers this weekend!
