Coming off a fourth-place finish in the PIAA Girls’ West Regional, JoAnna Saad made her first appearance in the PIAA Individual Wrestling Championships this week.

Saad opened the tournament with a loss against one of the top-ranked girls in the 106-pound weight class. That moved her into the consolation bracket on day two of competition, where her tournament came to an end in round one.

While the state competition did not go as we had hoped, JoAnna had a great showing throughout the season, and making it as far as she did is a huge accomplishment.
