This week, Dane Fazio competed in the PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Hershey.

He swam in two events after qualifying with medal-winning performances at the WPIAL Championships. His first event, the 50 freestyle, was on Wednesday. Fazio came into the event ranked 14^th but did not advance past the preliminary race.

On Thursday, however, he swam in the 100 breaststroke, an event in which he set a new school record earlier this month, and did finish fast enough to clinch a spot in the final that night. In the final, he placed 16^th in the state.

While we would have loved to have seen Dane on the medal stand, reaching the PIAA Individual Championships in two events and qualifying for the final in one is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations on a great season!
