After a walk-off win against Mars in the first round of the WPIAL tournament, the North Hills softball team is set to take on Thomas Jefferson on Wednesday.
The Indians will look to get off to a better start in the quarterfinals after falling behind 5-0 against the Planets on Monday. The North Hills offense, which averaged 8.6 runs per game in the regular season, came through in round one and will try to get the team in front quickly in round two.
Thomas Jefferson, the 10-seed, is coming off an upset win against South Fayette on Monday. The Jaguars allowed only four runs in the first round of the playoffs and only 3.6 runs per game in the regular season. They’ll attempt to slow down the high-scoring Indians offense.
Wednesday’s action begins at 2:00 at Gateway High School. Tickets are $7 at the gate, and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online via the GoFan website in advance, especially students, who can get their tickets for $5 online.
