After securing a bye in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs, the North Hills varsity baseball team is set for its quarterfinal matchup.
The Indians are coming off an 8-2 season in section play (12-4 overall), which earned them section co-champion status and the three-seed in the 5A bracket. Their quarterfinal opponent is Franklin Regional, the six-seed and one of the co-champions from 5A Section 1.
Franklin Regional is coming off a 2-1 victory over Connellsville in round one, while North Hills has not played anything more than a scrimmage in over a week. The winner of Monday’s quarterfinal matchup will face the winner of Fox Chapel/Penn-Trafford on Tuesday (time and location to be determined).
Monday’s game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 and will be played at Fox Chapel High School. Tickets are $7 at the gate, but fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance by visiting the GoFan website. Online tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.
Fans who are unable to attend the game can find a broadcast available on the Trib HSSN website.
