The 2024 spring sports season will officially come to an end this weekend when juniors Kayden Lightner and Gama Mogire compete in the PIAA Track & Field Individual Championships.

Mogire will be the first to compete, as he will run a preliminary race on Friday, with the final scheduled for Saturday. He will be competing in the 110-meter hurdles, where he finished second at last week’s WPIAL Individual Championships.

Lightner, who also claimed a second-place finish at the WPIAL competition, will not run a preliminary race. His event, the 800-meter dash, will run only a final race on Saturday. He enters this weekend’s competition ranked fourth in his event.

Fans attending the PIAA meet at Seth Grove Stadium in Shippensburg should purchase tickets online through the PIAA website, which also offers a schedule of the competitions and other information.
