On Wednesday, junior Ellie Kim competed in the section singles tournament and punched her ticket to the 2024 WPIAL Girls' Tennis Singles Championships.

During the section singles competition, Ellie needed to finish in the top four to secure a place in next week's WPIAL competition. Not only did she successfully reach the final four, but she won her semifinal match to advance to the final.

While a loss in straight sets on Thursday morning prevented her from claiming first place in the section, she will have an opportunity to compete for the top spot in the WPIAL next week. The WPIAL Singles Championships begin on Wednesday, September 18.
