We have entered the last full week of September, and fall sports are still going strong. Here is a look at where the teams at North Hills stand.

Cross Country

The varsity cross country teams ran at home last week against Butler and Mars. Both the girls and boys earned wins against Mars (15-45 and 15-47, respectively) and lost to Butler (18-40 and 22-33).

Football

Varsity football returned home last week to take on Fox Chapel and won 48-7. The win keeps the Indians perfect at home this season and improves their record to 4-1 overall (1-1 in the section).

Golf 

Last week was section qualifiers for the varsity golf team, as they played as individuals with a trip to the WPIAL Individual Championships on the line. The lone golfer to advance was senior Kasey Toia, who shot a 76.

Girls’ Soccer

The varsity girls' soccer team took on Pine-Richland and Seneca Valley last week but fell in both games. The girls' record is now 2-8 so far this fall.

Boys’ Soccer

Boys' soccer is coming off a huge week that saw the team post a perfect 3-0 record, including two massive section wins over Pine-Richland and Seneca Valley. The boys are now 8-4 overall this fall and 3-2 in the section.

Girls’ Volleyball

The girls' volleyball team faced off against North Allegheny and Pine-Richland last week but fell in both matches 0-3. On the season, the girls own a 2-6 record.

Girls’ Tennis

Girls' tennis was 1-1 last week, falling to Pine-Richland and defeating Trinity. The varsity team is 6-6 now this season.

Individually, Ellie Kim played in the WPIAL Singes Championships and advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to one of the tournament's top players.
