On Saturday, the boys' soccer team took on North Allegheny in a WPIAL Class 4A quarterfinal matchup.
After upsetting the defending champion Norwin Knights in round one, North Hills faced the Tigers for the third time this season.
Unlike Tuesday's action against the Knights, goals were difficult to come by in Saturday's tilt. The first half was scoreless, and it wasn't until half of the time had expired in the second half that North Allegheny broke through to take a 1-0 lead.
The Indians had a few opportunities as the game went on to find the equalizer but were unable to convert. In the end, it was a 1-0 final score in favor of the Tigers.
The loss brings to an end one of the most successful seasons in North Hills boys' soccer history. This fall, the team reached the playoffs for the first time since 2016, won a playoff game for the first time since 2014, and reached the quarterfinals for the first time since 1999.
While it would have been great to see this run continue, the success of the 2024 campaign cannot be understated. Congratulations to the boys' soccer team on an incredible fall!
