Last Thursday, the North Hills cross country teams ran at the WPIAL Championships at White Oak Park, and both the boys and girls improved upon their results from last fall.
The girls finished in 16th while cutting 50 points off their score from a year ago. The top five finished over 30 seconds better on average, and five out of seven runners finished with personal bests. Megan Bolinda was the top finisher for the girls.
Meanwhile, the boys' team improved to 10th place this year, shaving 92 points off last year's score. The top five runners cut more than 50 seconds off of their times on average, with four out of six runners setting personal bests.
The boys were paced by Kayden Lightner, who finished 17th and earned a spot in the PIAA Championships in Hershey on Saturday, November 2. Kayden is the first individual qualifier for North Hills since 2018.
Congratulations to the varsity cross country teams on great races!
