The winter sports season is officially here, and the teams at North Hills have begun competing. Here is an early look at what our teams are doing:

Girls' Basketball

Varsity girls' basketball kicked off the season with three games last week. The girls emerged with victories over Fox Chapel and Plum, while losing to Shaler Area to start the year 2-1.

Boys' Basketball

The varsity boys' basketball team hosted its annual Tip-Off Tournament last week and started the season with a win over Hampton. A loss on Saturday against Mt. Lebanon puts the team at 1-1 to start the season.

Gymnastics

The gymnastics team will compete for the first time this week when the girls take on Pine-Richland.

Indoor Track

Indoor track has begun training, but the teams will not compete until January 11 when they travel to Youngstown State.

Swimming & Diving

The varsity swimming and diving teams competed twice last week. They opened the season at home against Plum, then traveled to Chartiers Valley on Friday.

Unified Bocce

The unified bocce teams have not yet begun competition. Their first matches of the season are scheduled for December 17 at North Allegheny.

Wrestling

The varsity wrestling team got the season started with the Chartiers-Houston Tournament last weekend. The team finished third overall, while Carter Morvay posted the Indians' best individual performance, taking first place in the 172-pound weight class.

3:30 - Boys' Freshman Basketball vs Canon-McMillan (HS Gym)

3:30 - Girls' MS Basketball vs Fox Chapel (MS Gym)

Saturday, December 14

9:00 AM - Varsity Wrestling, North Hills Duals (MS Annex Gym)
