The winter sports season is racing along. Here is an update on our teams' seasons as we approach the midway point of January:

Girls' Basketball

The girls' varsity basketball team went 0-2 last week, dropping games against Pine-Richland and North Allegheny. The girls now own a 3-9 record this winter. 

The JV team picked up a win on Friday in a tightly contested game against North Allegheny.

Boys' Basketball

The boys' varsity basketball team went 1-1 last week. The boys lost by two on the road against Fox Chapel before picking up a big section win against North Allegheny on Friday. They are now 3-10 this season but 2-4 in the section.

Gymnastics

Varsity gymnastics did not have a meet last week. The girls will compete in their final meet on January 23.

Indoor Track

The indoor track team traveled to Youngstown State for its first meet of the season. Top ten finishes included Megan Bolinda (4th place, 3200), the girls' 4x4 relay (8th), the girls' 4x8 relay (2nd), Gama Mogire (1st place, 60 hurdles), and the boys' 4x8 relay (2nd).

Swimming & Diving

Varsity swimming and diving hosted Mars last week, and both teams picked up victories (girls: 98-84, boys: 100-69). The girls' team is now 5-3 this season, while the boys' team is 6-2.

Unified Bocce

The unified bocce teams hosted Shaler Area last week. The teams had a challenging day on the court but did manage to pick up one victory. The teams' combined record is now 5-3.

Wrestling

Varsity wrestling hosted Penn Hills last week in its first home match of the season, and the Indians came away with an impressive shutout win. 

Over the weekend, they traveled to the Burgettstown Invite where they finished third as a team and had two fourth-place, two fifth-place, and two sixth-place individual finishes.

3:30 - Boys' MS Basketball vs Butler (MS Gym)

6:00 - Girls' Varsity Basketball vs Norwin (MS Annex Gym)

6:00 - Boys' JV Basketball vs New Castle (MS Gym)

7:30 - Boys' Varsity Basketball vs New Castle (MS Annex Gym)

7:30 - Girls' JV Basketball vs Norwin (MS Gym)
