Longtime North Hills School District employee Dennis "Dudas" Bohn was honored during halftime of the boys’ basketball game on Friday, Jan. 10, as a semifinalist for the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Recognizing Inspiring School Employees (RISE) Award. The award, created in 2019, honors the extraordinary and inspirational work of school support staff across the state.
A member of our custodial and maintenance department, Dudas has worked for the district for 22 years and is the head caretaker for Martorelli Stadium.
“Dudas is an integral part of our athletic community,” NHSD Director of Athletics Patrick Weber said. “He goes above and beyond for everyone he comes in contact with and we thank him for all he does for this district and our students.”
Full and part-time non-teaching school employees are eligible to be nominated for the RISE Award and Dudas was nominated last fall.
On Friday, he was awarded a certificate of achievement from the state and signed by Pennsylvania Department of Education Secretary Khalid Mumin.
