The end of the winter sports season is in sight, and several teams at North Hills are eyeing the postseason. Here's an updated look at where they stand:

Girls' Basketball

The girls' basketball team went 1-1 last week and picked up an important 54-28 section win over Butler on Friday. With a 2-4 section record, the girls are in the mix for a playoff spot in Class 6A.

Boys' Basketball

The boys' basketball team was 1-2 last week but earned a thrilling overtime win against Seneca Valley on Friday. The Indians move to 5-5 in section play after knocking off the top team in the section in back-to-back weeks.

Gymnastics

Varsity gymnastics wrapped up the regular season last week with a meet against Baldwin, Thomas Jefferson, and Fox Chapel. The WPIAL Gymnastics Championships begin on February 7.

Indoor Track

The indoor track team did not compete last week. The next meet for the team will be on Saturday, February 8 at Youngstown State.

Swimming & Diving

The varsity swimming & diving teams did not compete last week, as their lone scheduled meet was postponed. Both teams will return to action this week against Pine-Richland.

Unified Bocce

Unified bocce hosted Northgate last week in its second of three home matches. Entering this week, North Hills 1 is 4-1 (second place in the division), and North Hills 2 is 2-3 (seventh).

Wrestling

The varsity wrestling team beat Central Catholic 62-12 last week to claim its first section championship in program history. Now, the Indians are set to host Penn-Trafford in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs.
