Zach Pollaro and Delaney Flanigan are the January Student-Athletes of the Month.
Pollaro, a senior on the boys' basketball team, became the sixth player in program history to score 1,000 career points when he reached the milestone against New Castle last month. In the process, he helped guide the Indians to the playoffs and earned Big 56 Player of the Year honors.
Off the court, Pollaro is posting a 3.3 GPA. His current course load includes three CHS classes, and he is enjoying a strong semester in the classroom.
Flanigan, a sophomore on the indoor track team, is off to a great start in the first indoor track team at North Hills. Her best jump in the pole vault last month was 9'6", which had her tied for eighth in the WPIAL.
In the classroom, Flanigan has a 3.7 GPA and is studying Early Childhood Education at A.W. Beattie Career Center, where she has nearly perfect grades.
Congratulations, Zach and Delaney, and good luck in the remainder of your winter season and school year!
