Last week, the North Hills swimming teams competed in the WPIAL Championships on Pitt's campus.
North Hills saw nearly all of its student-athletes shave fractions of seconds or full seconds off their qualifying times while competing in the district championship event. Some relay teams even cut as much as ten seconds off their times in the championship meet.
In addition, three relay teams earned top-ten finishes for North Hills with several other relays and individuals finishing just outside the top ten.
The lone medalist for the Indians was Amanda Bliss, who earned eighth place in the girls' 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.01.
Unfortunately, the times posted across the state were fast enough to force Bliss and others further down the standings and just below the state qualifying mark.
Nonetheless, North Hills enjoyed a productive championship meet to cap off an exciting season. Congratulations to all of our swimmers and divers on their great work this winter!
