The PIAA West Regional was held at Canon-McMillan over the weekend as wrestlers vied for a spot in the state championships.
Two North Hills wrestlers competed in the West Regional. Brady Rohaly wrestled in the 114-pound weight class, while Carter Morvay wrestled in the 172-pound weight class.
Rohaly fell in the first round to the WPIAL champion (and eventual regional champion), sending him to the consolation bracket early in the tournament. He won his first consolation match before being eliminated.
Meanwhile, Morvay won his first match and then lost to the District 6 champion. In the consolation bracket, Morvay again won his first match but lost his next and ultimately came up just shy of competing to be a place winner.
With that, the wrestling season is over for North Hills. Congratulations to Brady, Carter, and the rest of the varsity wrestling team on a great winter!
