The North Hills 9th grade boys basketball team had a rough time against North Allegheny Thursday. But the Indians rebounded nicely 24 hours later.
North Hills was a totally different team on Friday and knocked off visiting Canon-McMillan, 59-50, at the Senior High gym.
North Hills' defense was a factor in the first quarter as North Hills jumped out to a 21-9 lead after the first seven minutes and was ahead 35-23 at halftime. Canon-McMillan closed the gap to five points at one point in the fourth quarter, but North Hills closed things out and came away with the win to even its record at 2-2.
Carson Eckert and Liam Connolly did a little of everything for North Hills. Eckert scored a game-high 20 points and Connolly scored 19. Ty Pollaro added 14.
North Hills is next in action Monday at Hampton and the next home game is Friday against Fox Chapel, 3:30 at the Senior High gym.
