The regular season has concluded for our winter sports teams, and the playoffs are upon us. Here is a look at how the season ended for some teams and what's in store for others in the playoffs.
Girls' Basketball
The girls' basketball season wrapped up with a loss against Mars on Monday. With that, the girls end the winter with a 7-15 record.
Also last week, senior Gia Minton and freshman Zoe Devlin were named to the Big 56 all-section second team. Congratulations, Gia and Zoe, and thanks to all the girls for a great season!
Boys' Basketball
Boys' basketball is playoff-bound and will travel to Butler for their first-round matchup. The game is scheduled for 7:00 on Monday, February 17.
In addition, senior Zach Pollaro was named to the Big 56 all-section first team last week and was named the 6A Section 1 Player of the Year.
Indoor Track
The indoor track team's planned travel to Youngstown State on Saturday was disrupted by weather, but some student-athletes were able to make the trip. The lone top-ten finish for North Hills belonged to Kayden Lightner, who took third place in the 800M.
Swimming & Diving
The swimming and diving teams finished the regular season with losses against North Allegheny last week. Now, the attention shifts to the WPIAL Championships later this month.
Unified Bocce
Unified bocce had a win-and-in matchup last week against Avonworth but came up one point short. With that, the season has ended for North Hills. Congratulations to all of our bocce student-athletes on a fantastic season!
Wrestling
The varsity wrestlers competed in a sectional competition over the weekend, and nine wrestlers advanced to the WPIAL Individual Championships next week.
